4.6.1 case of alphanumeric characters

(5 × 7) pixel (width height) character matrix should be the minimum value of alphanumeric characters.

If the readability of a single alphanumeric character is important to the task, the (7  9) pixel (width height) character matrix should be the minimum.

If you use a character with an overhang, the (7 × 11) pixel (width height) character matrix should be the minimum.

(4 × 5) pixel (width height) alphanumeric character matrix should be minimum

⎯ subscript and superscript,

⎯ numerator and denominator of fractions displayed in single character position, and

⎯ information unrelated to the task (e.g. copyright symbol,).
